From Power Suits to Empowered Authenticity

Because every woman who wants a seat at the table deserves to stand out and shine in her own unique way.

The global pandemic not only turned our lives upside down, but it also provided us with a unique opportunity to reimagine ourselves and our style. As we adjusted to new ways of socialising, working, and living, our personal style became a powerful tool for self-expression. We discovered that fashion could be both professional and a means to reflect our personalities and make a statement in the world.

The pandemic accelerated change at an astonishing pace, equivalent to a decade’s worth of transformation in just two years. This rapid shift allowed us to gain clarity on our values and priorities, helping us focus on what truly matters. Now, we seek leaders who are authentic, trustworthy, and unafraid to embrace their uniqueness. The cookie-cutter approach is no longer enough—individuality is the new power move.

Even the transition to virtual meetings transformed how we present ourselves to the world. Zoom meetings became a window into our professional lives, offering others a glimpse of how we show up behind the corporate setting and leaving a lasting impression on colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

As we step into a new normal, high-level executive women are redefining their priorities and embracing what truly resonates with them. It’s no longer just about power suits, it’s about owning our choices and using fashion as a form of self-empowerment. We’re breaking free from outdated norms and embracing our true selves because our success should be defined by our abilities, not our wardrobe.

If we want to create success and be seen, heard, and noticed as more influential women in business, we must get intentional about growing our visibility as part of our leadership development. Building your visibility is the fastest way to develop your recognition, authority, and impact in your market and staying at the top of your game.

It’s time to stop picking styles that make you blend in with the crowd and unleash your true self,  embracing the power of styling to make a lasting impact. If you are daunted by the idea of changing your style, just start somewhere small, whether that’s adding more jewellery, donning fuchsia tights, or simply rocking your favourite red lipstick.
